Matthew Unsworth
Matthew Unsworth is a Chemical and Process Engineer passionate about sustainability and pollution mitigation. While studying in university, the issue of climate change captured Matthew’s imagination and he understood that this was a problem worth working on. As a result, he pursued an internship with Shell Canada’s Energy Transition Program, allowing him to focus his attentions on energy transition technical project development and GHG modelling. Wanting to further his training on engineering pollution mitigation technologies lead him to SGS Sulphur Experts to gain hands on experience with sulphur recovery units, amine systems and troubleshooting of oil and gas facilities. Since joining the company in June 2024, Matthew has been a part of engineering support teams for gas plant shutdowns, refinery performance evaluations, and data analysis for technical presentations and reports. Overall, Matthew is excited to see the impact of his work with global clients across 6 continents and is grateful for the opportunity to impact good stewardship of the environment at such a scale.
