Gerald Bohme
Gerald has been directly involved in all aspects of the sulphur recovery process engineering and consulting work conducted by SGS Sulphur Experts since 1988. Over the course of his career, he has worked with hundreds of Sulphur Recovery Units across the natural gas treating, oil refining, chemical production, and steel production industries. His experience is truly global, having been based in both the Canadian and German Sulphur Experts offices and completed on-site projects in more than 50 countries.
Gerald has conducted more than 200 SRU performance and acceptance tests and assisted with over 50 commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and turnaround projects. He has also completed more than 80 reliability assessments, incident investigations, and capacity studies. His experience spans facilities processing acid gas feeds ranging from less than 2% to more than 95% H₂S, as well as individual SRU trains producing from less than one tonne to more than 2,500 tonnes of sulphur per day. He has worked with plants achieving sulphur recovery efficiencies ranging from less than 10% to greater than 99.999%.
Throughout his career, Gerald has supported more than 20 sulphur plants annually and has presented over 250 sulphur recovery training seminars. He has also authored numerous technical papers on sulphur recovery and presented his work at industry conferences around the world.
