Health, Safety and Environment

Sulphur Experts operates in very challenging industrial settings, routinely sampling and analyzing process streams that are immediately dangerous to health and life. In recognition of this, Sulphur Experts has established a comprehensive health, safety and environment policy that places safety above all other considerations in conducting our work.

Our Health, Safety and Environment Policy is developed in accordance with the Petroleum Industry Guiding Principals for Worker Safety. In addition Sulphur Experts’ safety program is recognized through a Certificate of Recognition under the Province of Alberta’s Partnerships in Injury Reduction Program. This is a unique program that sets specific requirements for the components of the health and safety program including maintaining a minimum passing grade of 80% in regular audits conducted by certified, third-party safety professionals.

We develop internal methodologies and safe work practices for all aspects of our work based on hazard assessment, application of personal protective equipment and extensive worker training. Our technical staff will typically be certified in the following areas:

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • First Aid and CPR
  • H2S Alive
  • Petroleum Safety Training
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Confined Space and Fall Protection
  • Fall Protection

We conduct regular worksite safety inspections to ensure our existing Safe Work Practices continue to meet our high standards. We document all incidents and have a incident response and corrective action program in place to address any health and safety issues.
